Wasaga Beach is one of Southern Georgian Bay’s best-known summer destinations, with a long sandy shoreline and access to trails in a provincial park setting. The experience changes considerably by season, so plan for the conditions you expect.
Choose a beach area
Wasaga Beach Provincial Park includes multiple beach areas, with different parking and facilities. Use the Ontario Parks facilities guide to choose an access area that suits your visit.
Swimming safety comes first
Ontario Parks advises that its beach areas do not have lifeguards. Check the Town’s beach water quality guidance and official park advisories before swimming. Avoid swimming near the Nottawasaga River mouth because of hazardous undertows, as advised by Ontario Parks.
Beyond the sand
The park also offers other seasonal outdoor activities. Start with the provincial park information to check permitted activities, winter services and any park restrictions.

Before you go
Bring sun protection, drinking water and appropriate flotation equipment. Check weather and water conditions, and never treat visible calm water as proof that swimming is safe.
